After a long hiatus from the blogging world, I am back by popular demand. I have been very busy painting and creating the past few months and have had some wonderful opportunities develop. There is nothing better than being surrounded by great people and the experience has been life changing to say the least! Thanks to all of those old and new pals who have been there, you know who you are.
I just finished up with the annual Whimsical Women fall sale here in Pfafftown NC. It was fantastic! It has really given me the push I needed to get my stuff out there. Here are some samples of my recent stuff! Enjoy.

The Silence is Deafening

Where have I been, you ask? Riding the roads, designing a house and being a mom! Where have my creative juices been directed? Into this house! It has been both fun and frustrating to build for ourselves. My main problem...liking too many different things. I love so many different styles, I find beauty in so many conflicting themes, styles, and backgrounds. What is a designer to do? Consult the budget (which is shrinking), and decide already!

New Personalized Paintings

These two sisters are getting a room makeover with these 18x24 freehand paintings! The details in the stars and butterfly wings are from the bedding; stripes, floral, and colors. The white and green pattern around the edge is the same as the pattern around the edge of the pillows and quilt. Thanks Amanda for letting me create a personal addition to the girls' room! I had fun going with it!

Go Twins Gold!

This girls' soccer team got a festive holiday gift from a team mom! With their team name and individual number this was a personal gift for each of them. It was a favorite with all of them!

Table for the girlies

A new table with butterflies and flowers requested by the shop for a display. My girls cried and wanted to keep it so it seemed to be a huge hit with them!

New Stuff

Hello strangers! I am finally posting some new pictures of recent projects! I have quite a little collection of pieces at the newly opened Millhouse Gallery and shop in historic Bethania. The Grand Opening celebration is Saturday November 15th. They're open already so pop over and take a look at all the great stuff they have from jewelry and photography to yummy sauces and general store treats! My frames and ornamnets seem to be a hit, so we'll see. I have several kids' table and chair sets that I am working on to take over there too. All these things can, and probably should be, personalized. Let me know if you know of anybody with a christmas list that needs filling. I am selling prints of some of these projects on etsy as well as the originals. Check it out for a cheap way to have some original and personalized artwork! Christmas is coming?!

I have spent the day sketching Christmas images for some custom gifts and some I'd like to sample out for orders...I can't believe it is that time of year to be thinking ahead! I have some really great ideas that I think would make some great gifts. Stay tuned for those. I have also been doing some custom monogram ornaments for a friend. I'll have those pics up soon.

Still working on the Etsy thing today. What a fun site for anyone who is new to the page, it is GREAT! I'll post a new project this weekend, stay tuned!

UP and Running..Almost!

Well, I am hard at work with my new 'business'. I literally see myself as having a new job! What a mental shift. I have created an online store at: aPaintedDream.Etsy.com. I have had some technical difficulties in posting items for sale so bear with me for a few days! That would be the 'almost', in the up and running.
I am starting with some kids' decor themes that can be customized with hand painted Mongrams, names, and special-order custom decor to match any room theme you may already have. Table and chair sets, step-stools, art canvases, and even light switch plates that your little one, (or your expecting friend!) has to have for their child's room. I am drawn to girlie things (imagine that with three princesses at my own house), but I am adding some cute stuff for your little men, too! Of course, I am ALWAYS looking for a wall or bigger piece of furniture to decorate!
I am very excited to share my stuff with all of you. It is a big step for me to call myself an "artist", although, I might not be all the way there yet?! It is a big thing to step out of my family and close friends circle of support for my stuff. A huge thanks again for all of you who have bought the artwork that has little pieces of me ingrained in them. In the meantime here are some more recent projects for you to gander at!
